2008 Early Years Conference

The 2008 Early Years Conference was held on 15 and 16 July at the Novotel Brighton Beach Hotel, Sydney. Over 370 conference delegates were engaged and inspired by high-quality speakers and enthusiastic workshop presenters.
International and local keynote speakers addressed innovative literacy and numeracy practices, how to foster resilience and build student wellbeing, and how to develop effective partnerships between schools, parents and communities. To access short biographies of these speakers go to Keynotes.
A highlight of the conference was the Sydney Region Showcase that outlined the innovative work of two schools and the regional literacy team in the implementation of Best Start. The showcase presented the strategies and processes used to ensure the literacy development of students was targeted and systematic.
